Chapter 369 - 359: Coming Home
Chapter 369 - 359: Coming Home
It must be said, they all understand each other well.
Jiang Yan was being looked at by her for a long time, and finally gave in.
Jiang Yan left, unwilling to part.
Liu Yulan looked at his desolate departing figure, and said to Wang Miaomiao amusingly, "Look at him, what kind of expression is that? I’m your mom, with me staying here to take care of you, what else is he worried about?"
Wang Miaomiao had a smile in her eyes, merely watching his departing figure in silence.
Jiang Yan left the hospital but didn’t return to the hotel to rest; he always makes the most of every minute and second.
He went to the police station. The case had already been closed, but the culprit, the source had not been thoroughly investigated and resolved. He absolutely wouldn’t allow this hidden danger to exist for a long time.
He hadn’t had the mind for this aspect a few days ago, but now, it’s time for him to apply some pressure...
Jiang Yan made a circuit at the police station, then had the hotel kitchen prepare dinner. At this moment, there was also news from Jiang Zhongyi that confirmed the helicopter carrying Academician Lin would arrive at Sea City by the afternoon the next day.
Jiang Yan immediately went to Dean Wu’s office to explain the situation, tentatively determining the plan for Wang Miaomiao’s transfer.
Dean Wu was genuinely surprised to hear that Wang Miaomiao was to be transferred, and even more astonished to learn that Academician Lin would personally come to escort her throughout.
Logically, he didn’t support Wang Miaomiao’s transfer. After all, her condition was still quite serious. But with the family’s insistence and Academician Lin’s involvement, he ultimately had to compromise and nod, making every effort to do what could and should be done in preparation.
Moreover, with Academician Lin coming, being able to meet him was very exciting. In his heart, he decided to make the preparations thoroughly impeccable to make a good impression in front of Academician Lin.
Jiang Yan left Dean Wu’s office satisfied, and returned to the ward. At this time, the ward was full; the children had come and were talking in front of Wang Miaomiao’s bed.
Of course, they no longer mentioned any sad or crying topics, only talking about the interesting things they encountered at home these days, striving hard to make Wang Miaomiao smile.
Jiang Yan watched his wife’s smiling eyes and showed a look of appreciation to the children. These children were not born in vain, they were somewhat useful.
The helicopter landed on the hospital rooftop on time the afternoon the next day.
Jiang Zhongyi personally went to the rooftop to greet them. Academician Lin, already with white hair and beard, was older than Jiang Zhongyi, but his vigor was in no way inferior.
Jiang Zhongyi, being a retired soldier, has never stopped exercising, while Academician Lin has his own method of health maintenance.
The two have connections and didn’t need to speak any pleasantries. Academician Lin first inspected Wang Miaomiao’s condition, praising Dean Wu for her good recovery, which made Dean Wu so excited, like a little schoolboy, following closely and listening to Academician Lin’s guidance.
Academician Lin intentionally provided some advice too, due to Jiang Zhongyi’s subtle recommendation.
Dean Wu, a clever person, took the opportunity to raise quite a few of his previous questions, gaining insight and clarity from Academician Lin’s advice at once.
Some relationships are maintained bit by bit over time; more connections mean more paths, all benefitting everyone.
Dean Wu has always been diligent and conscientious in his work, and not long from then, he achieved significant accomplishments while maintaining his long-term relationship with the Jiang Family.
Academician Lin stayed in Sea City for one night, and the next morning, Wang Miaomiao was lifted onto the helicopter, accompanied by her closest family and professional doctors, safely arriving at Beijing Hospital.
Though it was just a transfer from one hospital to another, Wang Miaomiao still felt a sense of closeness, as if being nearer to home was more comforting.
She stayed at Beijing Hospital for another seven days, during which all her indicators were normal, and Jiang Yan handled her discharge procedures so she could recuperate at home.
Understandably, Wang Miaomiao was very pleased with this. Watching Jiang Yan running back and forth over these days, she felt a bit sorry for him. He would come straight to the hospital to accompany her after work, sometimes even bringing materials to work there, just to spend more time with her.
When Wang Miaomiao stepped through the door of her home, her heart finally felt completely at ease. It’s good to be back home...
Thus, Wang Miaomiao officially started a lifestyle of eating and sleeping, sleeping and eating, where her most pleasant time of day was lying on a deck chair, squinting and basking in the sun.
Wang Miaomiao’s recovery lasted three months, as it takes a hundred days to heal from tendon and bone injuries. Jiang Yan certainly wouldn’t let her run around before fully healing.
During these three months, her husband took meticulous care of her. Except for work hours, everything personal was handled by him, treating Wang Miaomiao like a little baby without self-care abilities, caring for her attentively.
Wang Miaomiao enjoyed it at first but eventually, she could only be speechless.
The autumn wind was chilly; the weather was gradually cooling, especially in the morning and evening, with significant temperature differences.
Jiang Yan, as usual, arranged work early and came home on time. He now understood that work is endless; there should be a balance between family and career. He chose to trust his judgment, delegating more authority to subordinates he approved of, focusing on the bigger picture.
"Why are you lying here again, not covering with a blanket..." Jiang Yan first headed to the pavilion in the courtyard after returning home, as if knowing she would be there.
Wang Miaomiao lay on the rocking chair, leisurely squinting at the splendid sunset sky.
"You’re back, give me a hug." Upon hearing his voice, Wang Miaomiao looked a bit guilty, quickly spreading a big smile and reaching out her hands, looking at him flatteringly.
Jiang Yan was initially displeased by her lack of self-care, but her deliberate coziness made him helpless.
He took the blanket draped over the chair back and covered her shoulders, then bent down, supporting himself on the rocking chair armrests with his hands.
Wang Miaomiao wrapped her arms around his neck, gently pulling him down.
Their hearts were in sync, their eyes filled with tender smiles.
Jiang Yan slowly lowered his head, and Wang Miaomiao silently closed her eyes, slightly tilting her chin to welcome his deep affection.
"You’re not behaving, I’ll punish you tonight..." Jiang Yan paused, mindful of it being broad daylight with other people in the house, it wasn’t good to go too far.
Upon hearing his words, Wang Miaomiao just smiled at him, seemingly unafraid of any punishment, a bit teasingly.
Jiang Yan’s eyes darkened; he had been tender with her for these months, not having the heart to touch her.
Is she now fearless because of that?
Hum... It’s been three months, perhaps it’s time to begin gradually settling the score.
Wang Miaomiao suddenly felt a chill, and couldn’t help but pull up the small blanket, oh dear, it really is starting to get colder...
