Chapter 311: Married Life Romance (Extra 1)
Since the final venue for the International Jewelry Design Competition is in Stellarion, Noah decided that after Summer Lowell finishes the competition, she should stay in Stellarion to work.
She can finally live in the same city as Maxim Sinclair, no more long distance.
In the past year, she and Maxim Sinclair could only take time off to fly and visit each other. In just one year, Summer Lowell became a platinum member of several airlines.
Now, Varden Villa has officially welcomed its mistress.
Early in the morning, the butler was bustling around, overseeing the cleaning in various places.
"Why are all these flowers wilting? Quick, change them now, they need to be in bud and dewy!"
The butler took the flowers out of the vase in the living room entry and casually threw them into the trash can, "Today is a big day as the Young Madam returns home, everything must be in order, new vibes!"
At the airport, Summer Lowell wrapped her coat tightly as soon as she got off the plane: "It’s so cold here!"
Maxim Sinclair handed the luggage to the accompanying staff, took off his coat, and draped it over her shoulders: "The car is waiting outside, it’ll be warm once you’re in. I told you to wear something warmer before the flight, but you wouldn’t listen. Now you see!"
"Leonia is so warm!"
Summer retorted defiantly, "It’s so hot there. I thought it was just a short distance from the plane to the car, so I didn’t wear more. But it’s fine, though cold, it’s bearable. It’s not like I haven’t spent winters before, not that fragile."
"You always have a way to make sense, can’t argue with you." Maxim Sinclair flicked Summer Lowell’s forehead lightly, holding her hand as they walked toward the parking lot.
After getting in the car, Summer Lowell took out her phone and returned a call to Vivian Sullivan: "I just landed, I’ll come to see you tomorrow!"
Vivian Sullivan’s scream came through the phone: "You’re back? And kept it so quiet, only telling me after you landed!"
Summer Lowell dug at her ear, replied helplessly: "I was busy with serious matters yesterday, didn’t get the chance to tell you. I called you as soon as I landed, please don’t hold it against me, okay?"
Maxim Sinclair glanced at Summer Lowell, looking like she was begging for forgiveness, and reminded her in a low voice: "Vivian Sullivan is still in confinement, don’t talk on the phone for too long, or Charles Jenson will fuss again."
"Got it."
Summer coaxed and cajoled until Vivian Sullivan stopped raising her voice, made a lot of promises, and finally appeased Vivian, who was in a special time.
"But I still want to see Vivian today, she must miss me a lot. I wasn’t there for her when she had such a big event as having a baby."
"But you need rest too."
Maxim Sinclair touched the dark circles under Summer Lowell’s eyes, "You must’ve worn yourself out staying up late for the competition."
"It’s okay, as a designer, staying up late is normal. But after the competition, President Norris said I’ll get a half-month vacation. After the holiday, I’ll directly start as the Design Director at the sub-company, and the designers who followed me abroad will also gradually come to Stellarion. It’s great, now I don’t have to worry about the designers at the sub-company giving me a hard time."
Recalling her experience as a Design Director two years ago, Summer Lowell shook her head and smiled: "I wonder how many of those designers who made things difficult for me back then are still there."
"So what if they are, you became a Design Director based on true talent, if they’re unconvinced, they should show true skill!"
Maxim Sinclair didn’t think there was anything to worry about.
Summer Lowell agreed, feeling much calmer.
She leaned against Maxim Sinclair’s shoulder: "I didn’t expect, after all this back and forth, to realize how deep our connection is."
This delighted Maxim Sinclair greatly.
Maxim Sinclair intertwined fingers with Summer Lowell, while the other hand wrapped around her waist: "Have you forgotten? I told you a long time ago that our bond is deep, you’d better give up on the thought of leaving me, but you didn’t listen and insisted on going your own way. Now you believe it, right? You are mine, no matter what happens, you’ll always come back to me."
"No, you’re wrong, I’m my own person, not an accessory," Summer Lowell lightly tapped Maxim Sinclair’s chin, "Mind your wording, Mr. Sinclair."
"Yes, yes, I was wrong, you’re the independent Designer Lowell, we love each other, that’s why we’re together," Maxim Sinclair quickly amended, "But Designer Lowell, it would be even better if you could emphasize being married on all social platforms."
As he spoke, Maxim Sinclair pinched Summer Lowell’s waist: "Otherwise, I’m really worried about my status being affected. In the long run, it’s not good for family harmony!"
"What’s the rush, the wedding hasn’t even taken place yet," Summer Lowell tugged at his tie, pulling him towards her, "You want me to announce it already, what if one day..."
She trailed off, stopping herself.
Because Maxim Sinclair’s expression changed.
Maxim Sinclair pulled her closer by the waist, the driver in the front took a quick glance at the rearview mirror and smartly raised the partition.
Summer Lowell blushed immediately, she tried to push Maxim Sinclair away, but he sat there like a mountain, unmovable.
"Don’t waste your energy, there’s still a while until we get home. Let’s have a good talk about what you really meant."
His tone was dangerously playful, and Summer Lowell’s heart pounded wildly. She looked at Maxim Sinclair sincerely: "I was just talking, misplaced words, you’re a magnanimous person, can you overlook it for once?"
"No, it’s a matter of principle to me. Your constant doubt hurts me deeply."
Maxim Sinclair’s long, narrow eyes drooped slightly, pretending to look pitiable.
Summer Lowell was so frustrated by his act that she gritted her teeth; how could he be so good at pretending now!
It made it seem as if she was utterly in the wrong.
"Stop using that tone and look with me, it makes me feel guilty inside, switch your state, please."
"Ha ha, switch what state? Shouldn’t you self-reflect on your mistakes? I almost lay my heart bare for you, and you still dare to say things like that. Check your conscience, doesn’t it hurt?"
Maxim Sinclair continued to reprimand Summer Lowell, until she covered her ears: "Alright, stop it, I know I was wrong, I’ll be more careful in the future, okay, Mr. Sinclair!"
In the end, Summer Lowell could only put on a pitiful face.
Maxim Sinclair finally smiled with satisfaction, holding Summer Lowell’s waist, whispering in her ear: "Are you hinting that I should propose? You’re right, I should indeed get on with that."
"I’m not, you keep quiet, alright, stop talking."
